You will also be provided a briefing on the tour, before proceeding for socialising and dinner.

Wake up in the beautiful Sonmarg, also called the meadow of gold and after having breakfast, leave for Kargil. Enroute, you will pass through Zozilla Pass (11,000 ft) and Drass Village, which is considered the coldest inhabited place in the world. Further down the way, you can enjoy some spectacular views of the famous peaks from Kargil War like Tiger and Tololing. Pay homage at the Kargil war memorial and stay overnight at Kargil town.

En route to Leh, pass through some of the most awesome landcape at Mulbek, Lamayuru(famous for the Yuru Monastery), visit the giant living Buddha Sculpture on rock mountain, Magnetic hill, Guruduwara Patthar Sahib and Hall of Fame museum. Spend the night at Leh.

The day has come for an adrenaline rush as you will be headed to one of the highest motorable passes in the world – Khardung-La (18,380 feet). Despite the high altitude, there will be smooth roads leading to the pass which is surrounded by some jaw dropping vistas. Later, you descend into an entirely altered landscape of Nubra valley.

After spending the 4th night at Nubra Valley, we will move towards Shyok Village, ending up at the gorgeous and ethereal Pangong Lake, made famous due to its appearance in several Bollywood movies like 3 Idiots. We will spend the night at our camp in Spangmik near Pangong lake.

After having breakfast fast by the lake, we will cross the villages of Man, Merak and Chushul towards an enchanting village called Hanle comprising approx. 400 families. It is the site of the 17th century Hanle monastery and also to the world’s highest Indian Astronomical Observatory. You spend the night here at a homestay.

We start the day early at 5.30 AM towards Umlingla (19300 ft), the new highest Motorable pass in the world ( Umlingla is 1000 ft above Khardungla). The pass has a rough and rugged terrain while the high altitude lacks oxygen. It will be a rather harsh environment and hence, slow acclimatization before reaching here is advised. We need to return quickly to Hanle and stay there at a Guest House overnight.

After having breakfast at Hanle, we will proceed towards Tsokar Lake which is a fluctuating salt water lake, situated in Rupshu valley in south Ladakh. You witness the source of Himalayan Rock salt at this pristine site and after a few activities, retire at a guest house or camp for the night.

Early morning we embark on one of the longest rides of our journey towards Jispa. On the way, the beauty of natural landscape at More Plains, Pang, Naki La, Lachung La and after crossing 21 hair pin bends at Gata loops, reach Sarchu. After halting at Sarchu, we will head towards Jispa crossing Baralachala Pass (16000 ft). Over Night stay will be at a camp or hotel in Jispa.

Starting our day early, we begin our ride towards Manali. Since the road is rough, our attempt will be halt as less as possible. We arrive in Manali by the evening and mark an end to our memorable trip.

Following breakfast at the picturesque hills station of Manali, you can do some local shopping before bidding goodbye and proceeding towards Delhi.

Fitness Requirement:

Anywhere above 8000 ft, the atmospheric pressure falls drastically and as a result, our body requires more oxygen to reach the blood cells. So, one has to work harder to get more oxygen. But the good news is that one gets acclimatized as one gains the altitude. You should carry your personal medication such as Diamox for necessary precaution and faster acclimatization. Do loads of breathing exercises and train your heart and lungs to cope up with the changing altitude.
